Running evaluations are done to evaluate your specific running style to get rid of chronic niggles or to prevent injuries. A biomechanical assessment is used in combination with a thorough evaluation of your joints and muscles to address injuries and performance issues.
During a running evaluation the patient will receive:
• A history and training programme review
• An assessment of flexibility, strength, balance, skeletal alignment and foot structure
• Video recording and analyses of running mechanics
• Treatment and management development
All tests and findings will be reviewed with you immediately following the examination. If necessary, a treatment program will be implemented, with follow-up options discussed. Your treatment program could consist of therapeutic exercises, manual interventions and guidelines for a progressive return to your prior running level. Modification to your running form or shoes might be recommended to correct adverse running mechanics.
